Entry RequirementsFor citizens of EU countries (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom), Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, a current passport or valid identity card is sufficient to enter Italy.
If you are a citizen of a non-EU country, a passport is obligatory and also a visa for certain countries. Depending on your nationality, the duration and the reason for your stay in Italy, it may be necessary for you to obtain a visa before registering to attend Momentum Rome. In this case, you should apply to the Italian Consulate in your country of residence.
Fuimicino and Ciampino AirportsThere are two international airports in Rome: Fuimicino (Leonardo da Vinci) and Ciampino. The Aeroporti di Roma official site gives information on both airports. Fuimicino is the main international airport serving Rome, Ciampino is used for most domestic and some international flights.
Roma "Leonardo da Vinci" Fuimicino Airport (FCO) is situated 26km southwest of the City Centre. Airlines served include Aegean Airlines, Aer Lingus, Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Air Alps Aviation, Air Europa, Air France, Air Littoral, Air Malta, Air One, Air Polonia, Air Vallee, Albanian Airlines, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Czech Airlines, Finnair, GlobeSpan, KLM Dutch Airlines, KLM Exel, Kuwait Airways, Lauda Air Italia, Lufthansa, Luxair, Macedonian Airlines, Maersk Air, Montenegro Airlines, Olympic Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Saudi Arabian Airlines, SkyEurope Airlines, Swiss Air, TAP - Air Portugal, Tunisair, Turkish Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines, Virgin Express, Wind Jet and Yemenia – Yemen Airways.
Roma Ciampino Airport (CIA) is located on the Via Appia Nuova, 12km southeast from the centre of Rome. Airlines served include Transavia Airlines, Sterling, Carpatair, Ryanair, ThomsonFly, EasyJet, Air Berlin, Hapag-Lloyd Express, Wizz Air, V Bird and Helvetic.
Arrival / Departure TransfersBecause delegates will arrive in Rome on different dates and at different times, there will be no conference-organised arrival shuttle bus service on Monday, October 23.
Public transport services to the centre of Rome are plentiful. Alternatively, airport taxis are situated right outside the airport. Please note: Taxis will only accept cash in Euros € and the cost to the Cavalieri should be approximately €35.
A complimentary departure shuttle bus back to the airport on Thursday, October 26 will be available from the Cavalieri Hilton Hotel direct to Fuimicino Airport from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, on the hour and every half hour. Delegates departing to the airport at any other time will need to make their own arrangements, and pay the appropriate cost.
Public Transport From the AirportsFrom All Airports Airport Shuttles: Should you arrive before or after Monday, October 23, a door-to-door airport shuttle service between both airports and all Rome hotels is available. The mini-buses have seating for up to seven passengers. Click here for full information and prices, and details of how to pre-book.
From Fuimicino Airport Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport. The official taxis are white and identified by the illuminated Taxi sign on the roof. Ensure the meter is running, and check the approximate price of the journey beforehand.
Rail: Take the Leonardo Express, a direct train service to Rome's main railway station, Stazione Termini. Follow the signs from the main Arrivals area. The service runs every 30 minutes, between 6:30 am and 11:30 pm. You can also get a train from the airport to Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina. A night bus runs to Stazione Tiburtina.
Bus: Every 30 minutes the COTRAL bus carries passengers to the Anagnina Station of Metro Line A, leading to the city centre. The bus service runs to the railway stations at night as well. There is a shuttle bus to parking and terminals.
Road: If you're driving, an autostrada runs from the airport to the city via EUR — it's a 45-minute drive.
From Ciampino Airport Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport. The official taxis are white and identified by the illuminated Taxi sign on the roof. A taxi from Ciampino to the city centre costs approximately 30-40 euros.
Rail: There is a bus available to take passengers to the nearby train station, and passengers then take the train into Rome. Alternatively take a bus to the central train station in Rome. There are taxis available to take passengers to the railway stations, and the fare will be about €35.
Bus: From Ciampino Airport, you can catch a LiLa/COTRAL bus that connects with a subway to Stazione Termini.
Hotel Shuttle ServiceDuring Momentum Rome, a complimentary hotel shuttle service will operate between the Cavalieri Hilton and the official Momentum Conference Hotels from Monday, October 23 until Thursday, October 26, 2006.
Shuttle buses will be available early morning and late afternoon to transfer delegates to and from the Cavalieri Hilton. A full schedule of shuttle bus times and pick up points will be available here in September 2006.
Metro / BusesRome's buses, trams, metro and suburban railways are part of an integrated system run by ATAC, and Metrebus tickets cover all forms of transport. You must purchase your ticket before you board, there are hefty fines if you don't, even for tourists. Tickets can be purchased at tobacco stores, cafès, and newspaper stands. There are various different ticket types from 75 minutes to three days duration.
There's also a private network of J buses. Most of the main buses terminate at the bus station outside Stazione Termini (where you can get a map of the bus routes). The city's Metro service (which is convenient for many of Rome's sights) has two lines, both of which go through Termini.
The metro operates from 5:30 am until 11:30 pm (12:30 am on Saturdays) every 3-4 minutes during rush hours, every 5-6 during the day and every 8-10 minutes early morning and late evening. All tickets are valid on buses, trams, metropolitana (subway) and local trains within the city boundaries (zone A).

Official Rome taxis are white with an identification code on the door, and have a taxi meter. Inside, on the left door of the back seat, there is a plaque indicating the license number and the name of the driver or of the taxi company of which he is a member. |

Weather / Dress CodeBecause Momentum is set in a relaxed, professional atmosphere, the dress code for the conference is business casual. Meeting room temperatures can be cool and the climate varies, so we recommend wearing layered clothing for comfort.
