Keynote Address: David Gingell
Vice President Software Marketing EMEA — EMC Corporation
Thursday, October 26
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
“What Have the Romans Ever Done for Us?”
For the last few years, David has closed the Momentum European conference with a look back on the week, casting a quizzical and sometimes amusing eye over the proceedings. This year David will bring his form of deadpan delivery and gentle ribbing style to a session on the great contribution that the Roman Empire made to the world. Don’t expect this to be a dull but worthy presentation. It’ll probably be neither. Come along and take the weight off your feet as you kill a few hours before your flight home. You never know, you might even learn something without the pain normally associated with listening to a 45 minute delivery of 50+ slides.

About David Gingell
David is responsible for EMEA marketing activity for the EMC Software Group. As the driving force behind a 24- strong team, David’s role is to promote the company’s information and content management capabilities across the region. He is widely quoted in the media and is a regular speaker at industry conferences and seminars. Prior to the acquisition of Documentum by EMC in 2003, David served as marketing director and VP of Documentum EMEA, where he was responsible for marketing the Documentum product portfolio across the EMEA region; prior to that he directed global marketing for the financial services sector. He joined the company in 1995 and ran the partner channel across Europe where he was responsible for indirect sales channels including VARs, distributors and systems integrators. David’s 23-year career in the technology industry spans a two-year stint at Oracle in marketing and sales positions; pre-sales management at Ingres, and pre-sales and technical roles at Unisys, and MGB. David began his career at ICL as a graduate trainee. David holds an MBA from Henley Management College and a BSc from the University of Swansea, Wales. Check back in the coming weeks for information on Thursday's keynote address.
